VISION AND MISSION

TRYZUB CHERISHES THE FRIENDSHIPS DEVELOPED ON THESE REVOLUTIONARY TOURS.

Tryzub continues to bring to life the beauty and colour of Ukrainian dance to audiences near and far. Through their dedication and commitment to excellence, the members of Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble continue to reach new levels of technical and artistic abilities.

OUR STORY

Tryzub is a non-profit, non-affiliated charitable organization, managed by a board of directors comprised of dancers and dedicated volunteers. The Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Society hosts several major annual events, including our fundraising Zabava dinner and dance and the Tryzub School of Ukrainian Dance Zabava.

TRYZUB HISTORY

2020’s

Travelled to Toronto, Ontario to take part in the Bloor Street Ukrainian Festival. Billingham International Dance Festival In 2024, produced ‘Dzvinka’ a full-length production  honouring Tryzub’s 50th Anniversary. 2010’s

This crowd-pleasing concept returned in 2013 for Razom 2, featuring the Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet Ensemble (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), Tavria Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble (Regina, Saskatchewan), and Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. 2000’s

In 2009, Tryzub formed a partnership with the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dancers in Edmonton, Alberta and Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble in Winnipeg, Manitoba to present Razom, a full-length stage production featuring the repertoire of the participating dance ensembles.

1990’s

Tryzub performed at the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show in 1992, 1997 and 2001, and the 1993 Canadian Football League Championship Grey Cup game.

1980’s

We have been featured at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games, the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show in 1992, 1997 and 2001, and the 1993 Canadian Football League Championship Grey Cup game.

1970’s

Tryzub was founded in 1974 by a group of University students, aspiring to embrace their Ukrainian Heritage.

EACH OF US HAS MANY CHAPTERS IN OUR HISTORY, AND FOR SOME OF US, THESE CHAPTERS FOLLOW A COMMON THREAD.
